The Solution is Auditory Steady-State Response

Discovered and developed in the 1980s at the University of Melborne, a new category of auditory evoked potentials is the solution for frequency-specific hearing assessment in infants and children. The auditory steady-state response (ASSR), also called the steady-state auditory evoked potential (SSEP), meets all the criteria for follow-up diagnostic testing.

Auditory steady-state responses:

  • can be reliably recorded in sleeping neonates and children.
  • Are evoked by frequency-specific tonal stimuli.
  • Can be detected objectively using statistical algorithms.
  • Have thresholds that are highly correlated with behavioral audiogram thresholds.
  • Can be used to estimate the behavioral pure tone audiogram.

Chartr-EP

ICS CHARTR EP has long been the industry's premier system for evoked-potential
diagnostics thanks to its accuracy and reliability. With cutting- edge technology, this software suite has been enhanced with two important assessment protocols: ASSR (auditory steady-state response) for pediatric testing and VEMP (vestibular evoked myogenic potentials) for balance disorders.

Interacoustics ASSR

New generation ASSR:
• Results in half the time it would take with traditional ASSR systems
• Prediction of the audiogram at four frequencies binaurally
• Full stimulus control
• Powerful complete 2 channel system
• NOAH compatible
